Getting to Know You

I don't know if many of you out there know this, but if you want to make rice like the hawaiians do it (in the true pacific island way) then you should look for jasmin rice. The difference is that jasmin rice has a very fresh, slightly sweet taste. It works very well with sushi because you don't need to use as much vinegar water in order to get it to stick.

One of the best and simplest ways to prepare it is to boil the grains until they are slightly sticky and tender. Then add about a fourth of a stick of butter for every cup of rice that you boil. After that throw on some blanched red and green peppers, broccoli, and snap peas. You can also add carmalized red onions if you care to add a little kick to the flavour of the dish.

my first time

This is my first time blogging! Now that I am out of the microwave I'd like to start expanding my coasts, so-to-speak. Since becoming self-aware I've learned a great deal about the nature of the universe. To be perfectly honest I cannot recall very much of my previous incarnation. But the good thing is that I can tell you that it probably didn't matter that much anyway. Hopefully I'll be able to continue posting in the future about my experiences and how they tie into or diverge from this grand existential stir-fry that we call life. Until then, enjoy yourselves!
